This document contains the full chronology of motions made at the full Council session of the Gulf Council , including failed, substituted, and amended motions. Motion carried with no objection Motion: to accept the SSC recommendation to develop an ad hoc panel as soon as possible to assess significant data needs, especially relative to Gulf-wide spawning stock and age structure, for a benchmark assessment of red drum. The panel should be tasked with identifying research priorities that could be accomplished in the time prior to the scheduled red drum assessment, given sufficient resources could be allocated to those tasks. This should be accomplished in a research planning meeting involving scientists from federal and state agencies, academic institutions, and stakeholders. Motion carried with no objection Motion: Charge of the Ad Hoc Review Panel for Red Drum: to review the available data for red drum, review current research and monitoring programs that include red drum, and design short-term research that could be completed prior to 2009 that collectively could be used to conduct a SEDAR assessment of red drum.
